Covert Protective Pistol-Essentials is a 2-day class that covers using the pistol at different distances, ready positions, movement, mindset, marksmanship fundamentals, post-fight procedures, and much more. During lunch, Shane generously took a client’s son for a one-on-one lesson in shooting. The young shooter was happy to get some shooting time and attention. I’ve been taking Mr. Kerwin’s firearms and medical classes since 2019, and in my experience, he sets the bar for what a professional instructor should be.

Im always excited to attend any of his courses as I always feel like I’ve learned something new or improved my existing skills after attending a class.

His years of service and experience training both troops and armed civilians have provided him with real-world, practical knowledge that translates into lessons and guidance not just pulled from a general instructor manual. This means he won’t force you to go through some checklist even if you’re struggling, he’ll start to tailor the class to your needs so that you get something out of the class.

If you’re new to firearms, I highly recommend taking both his Introduction to the Protective Pistol and a medical course to start. These will provide you with training that will help you feel more comfortable around firearms and better prepared to respond to a medical emergency.
